For the focus on Entrepreneurship and Research

The Polytechnic Institute of Setubal is known in Portugal for strongly promoting an entrepreneurial and research culture. It was awarded the COTEC Prize in 2013 for Promoting Entrepreneurship. Through the years, IPS has supported the creation of several Start Ups inside the institution and it has provided the necessary conditions for implementing research projects, which are crucial for the development of technology and the society. Entrepreneurship is instilled in IPS students since the first year, showing them how to face life with ambition and a will to win, features that will lead them to succeed in the labour market.
